  The Academic staff union of university national executive committee meeting ended in dispute today has the house got divided over strike actions. The union executives held a meeting on Saturday to decide on the next step as regards the inability of the FG to meet up with their demands.  ASUU had previously given the federal government ultimatum to the end of August to meet up with their demands, but as of yesterday Friday, 3rd September, the union said FG is yet to respond to their request which made them (ASUU) call a NEC meeting but unfortunately, there was a divided house as some accepted the union go on strike while some kicked against it... According to the president of the association, Pro. Emmanuel Osodeke the executives will meet again on Monday to conclude on the next step.

Fortunately for the housemates, their win comes at a time where all the housemates were put up for possible eviction. For the special Head of House challenge, the housemates were given 2 minutes,30 seconds to complete the different stages of the challenge. Jackie B ended her game at 1:09, Jaypaul finished at 1:12. With their speed, they emerged as the HoH for the week. The challenge was divided into various parts which include eating eggs, drinking concoctions and going through slippery passages to find keys. Unfortunately for the rest of the housemates, the entire house is up for eviction which means fans will need to stick to ensuring their favourites remain in the game.   A businesswoman died Tuesday afternoon after she was hit by a stray bullet in her shop in Owerri, Imo State. She was killed during a gun battle between suspected gunmen and security operatives, as she was hit by a stray bullet. Some hoodlums had earlier attacked and razed Orji Divisional Police Headquarters. The victim, who sold provisions in her shop at Hardel junction close to the scene of the fierce battle was in her 60s, according to THE PUNCH. Her lifeless lay on the ground as her relatives and friends wailed uncontrollably. It was learnt that another lady who was filming the ugly battle was shot in the leg close to the scene.

  Gunmen have yet again caused panic in Imo state as a fresh attack was carried out at orji axis down to the imo state university IMSU.    Witness said that the "gunmen reportedly broke into a street in the area with open fire leaving people on the street on a run. It was rumored that two people were killed by stray bullet as they try to take to their heel.   Police in Anambra have confirmed the killing of two of its personnel by unknown gunmen who attacked and razed the Divisional Police Station in Obosi, Idemili North of the state. The News Agency of Nigeria gathered that the attackers had after burning down the station, moved to the quarters where they killed the two personnel in the early hours of Thursday. DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the command’s Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the attack to NAN on Thursday. Ikenga said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Chris Owolabi had dispatched a tactical team for an   on-the-spot assessment of the incident. “The tactical team led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police was directed to have an on-the-spot assessment of the place. “The team was equally told to possibly identify and apprehend the hoodlums that perpetrated the attack,” he said. Father Mbaka, the founder of adoration ministry was on Tuesday declared missing following an invitation to a meeting by the bishop of eneugu, bishop Onagah Meanwhile, at 2.35pm, on Wednesday, Mbaka reappeared alongside security operatives. Although he did not state who arrested him, it was gathered that Mbaka was with the Department of State Services. A security source said that the DSS compelled Onagah to invite Mbaka to his house from where they arrested him. However, when they saw the level of destruction visited on the bishop’s residence and the cathedral, they allowed him to make a video call to some of his supporters. They were said not to have been satisfied and were forced to release him.     The residence of the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onagah, was on Wednesday destroyed by angry members of the Adoration Ministry in Enugu State. The mob was protesting the alleged detention of the ministry’s Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka, in the bishop’s house. The protesters who chanted war songs destroyed the perimeter fence and window panes of the bishop’s house. They were restrained from causing more damage by scores of security personnel who stormed the bishop residence. The protesters had earlier gained access into the sitting room and destroyed furniture and other items. The bishop’s guests’ house and Youth Corp member’s lodge adjacent to the bishop’s residence were not spared.

  Pastor Dare Adeboye, the son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, Enoch Adeboye, is dead. It was gathered that the 42-year-old, who was the third surviving child of the revered cleric, died in his sleep on Wednesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family.  It was also gathered from reliable sources in the church that the deceased, who was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35, had ministered the previous day. He was said to have retired to his bed and did not wake up. “He was not sick and did not complain of anything before the incident. Pastors in the church were summoned to pray for him, all to no avail,” a source added. Several leaders of the church, who confirmed the incident, said they could not comment on it.  Unknown gunmen have attacked the country home of the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma. The gunmen who invaded the governor’s village house in Omuma in the Oru East Local Government Area of the state in early hours of Saturday killed two security men on duty before torching it. Our correspondent’s investigation revealed that one of the security men killed was an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. According to a village source who pleaded anonymity, cars parked at the compound and part of the building were affected by the fire. According to the source, the security men on duty repelled the gunmen, leading to the death of the two cops. An unconfirmed news also has it that the gunmen killed two other security men at Oguta-Mgbidi Junction, a road that leads to the governor’s country home

  A popular Nigerian comedienne, Mercy Cynthia Ginikachukwu, fondly referred to as Ada Jesus, is dead. The comedienne died two days after celebrating her birthday. The young lady had been battling kidney disease that left her incapacitated before her death. Her death was announced by one Harrison Gwamnishu, who had been taking care of the ailing comedienne. Gwamnishu led a group of Nigerians that took the comedienne to the hospital for medical treatment. In a post via his Instagram handle, the young man wrote, “Thank you, everyone. Rest in Power Mercy Nmesoma Nnadi @adajesuscomedy”. Moreso, during an exclusive chat with The Punch Gwamnishu said that the comedienne died this morning at 7:15 am. He said, “Yes, she is dead. Three people were shot late on Sunday by some suspected gunmen, who invaded Koka Village in the Obokun Local Government area of Osun State. According to information from A resident, who preferred anonymity said that she was already in bed around 11:30 pm when about eight gunmen invaded the village. She said the attackers divided themselves into two groups, with the first set of four men entering houses and bringing out the residents, while another set mounted surveillance on the road leading into the village. Another resident, simply identified as Tayo Ola, also said a building that the gunmen entered first when they arrived the village was damaged with a bullet. Ola also said three villagers were shot but none was taken away by the attackers, adding that the arrival of hunters put them under pressure and made them fled into the bush.
